A message from DWP and Sonic Temple:
“Dear Sonic Temple Family,
With a heavy heart, we write to inform you that due to the health and recovery efforts of James Hetfield, Metallica has to cancel their headlining performances at this years Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival. Click here to read James Hetfield’s statement.
“First and foremost, I want to say how much I respect and support James for taking care of himself, and for his commitment to getting healthy. At the same time, I am also deeply devoted to providing our fans with the biggest and best festival experience in the world. As disappointed as we all are to lose Metallica, I am thrilled that Tool and Red Hot Chili Peppers, dear friends of both DWP and Metallica, as well as two of the biggest rock bands in the world, are stepping up on short notice to keep Sonic Temple on track to be the greatest rock festival in America,” says Danny Wimmer, DWP founder and festival creator.
We are committed to delivering the Sonic Temple experience you have come to know and love, and with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool and Slipknot confirmed as headliners, along with Deftones, Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Staind, Sublime with Rome and more, we know it will be an unforgettable weekend.
While we hope you will still join us at Sonic Temple this May, we know that many of you made your plans around Metallica’s performances, so if you choose to forgo attending Sonic Temple this year, beginning this Friday, February 28 at 10:00AM EST you can exchange your Sonic Temple passes for another DWP festival that Metallica is performing at (Epicenter, Welcome To Rockville or Aftershock), or request a full refund. All 2020 festival pass purchasers will receive an email on Friday morning at 10:00AM EST from Front Gate Ticketing with full details.
We are working overtime to bring you an amazing festival experience and truly hope to see you at Sonic Temple, or another DWP festival this year.
