At the start of TOOL’s new tour, Aftershock Festival was introduced to several songs performed live for the first time from the band’s latest album Fear Inoculum. This album marked the long awaited return and reached #1 on Billboard’s Top 200.
TOOL ended the festival on night three at Discovery Park to a sold out crowd. The beginning of the set opened to people chanting “We want TOOL” while the band started with “Fear Inoculum”. This was my third time seeing the band live in 2019 and it was this set that felt special from the previous ones. The band took the best elements from their spring tour (production, delivery, etc) and amplified that to the crowd in Sacramento. A highlight coming when the laser lights shot into the crowd, illuminating everything in the park night.
Many of the upcoming tour dates are already sold out however tickets do become available closer to the date. It’s worth looking into as seeing TOOL live in 2019 is more of a spectacle than it’s ever been. You can watch fan shot videos of “Fear Inoculum” and “Pneuma” being performed live for the first time below.
